1. Sharpen those Skates for the Family Day Skating Party

Glide along at what Readers Digest called the best outdoor skating rink in Canada at the Cameco Family Day Skating Party at Meewasin Skating Rink, located beside the historic Bessborough Hotel. Enjoy hot beverages along with sleigh rides, face painting, balloon animals, and more winter fun than you can pirouette to, Feb. 18 from noon to 4 p.m.  No need to haul your skates to your airport hotel in Saskatoon, as Cameco offers free skate rentals.

 

2. Make Way to the Winter Family Day Carnival

All are invited to have some family fun and partake in indoor and outdoor winter activities Feb. 17 and 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the German Cultural Centre. The event includes carnival games, food, a petting zoo, inflatables, pony rides, and more. Family passes are $20/day or $30 for two days, available in advance at the German Cultural Centre.

 

3. Celebrate Family Fun Day with a Local MP

Saskatoon West Member of Parliament Sheri Benson is hosting a Family Fun Day Feb. 16 at the Cosmo Civic Centre, located an 11-minute drive south of the Comfort Suites. The free event includes a bouncy castle, balloon animals, prizes and activities for the young and young at heart. Get to know the locals while enjoying some free cake. 4. Dance out the Doldrums at the Red River Jig Party

The Saskatoon Public Library is hosting a fun dance party at its Round Prairie Branch, which features live music by Dallas and Phil Boyer. Learn the Red River Jig, a traditional Métis dance, with teachers from the Creeland Dancers, Feb. 16 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.


5. Get Revved Up at the Ram Motorsports Spectacular

Taking place over the Family Day weekend, with three shows Feb. 15 and 16 at SaskTel Centre, the Ram Motorsports Spectacular features a Monster Truck Challenge, Motocross Arenacross action, Canadian Tuff Truck Competition, Side-by-Side racing, and Free Style Motocross. 6. Wander Wanuskewin in Winter

Step back in time by going on a guided walk at Wanuskewin Heritage Centre followed by a tipi rising and pow wow dance performance.
